Just Eat pips Intel to top SoundOut sonic logos UK list

The rankings, comprising 72 sonic brands, were based on appeal, perceived brand value, personality match and brand recognition. Online greeting card and gifting platform Moonpig also included within the top three.

SoundOut, a leading company specialising in strategic sonic branding and audio marketing testing, has released its 2022 list of leading sonic logos within the UK. Topping the list this year is global online food delivery company Just Eat.

Based on quantitative data collected across 300,000 data points from 14,400 UK consumers, Just Eat scored a resounding 81% - significantly higher than second place Intel (76%) and third place Moonpig (75%). Globally recognisable brands Netflix and Haribo also made the top 10.

Elsewhere, Betway – a leading global brand in online betting and gaming – broke into the top 20 despite being a new entrant to the rankings.  

David Courtier-Dutton, founder and CEO of SoundOut, says, “By subconsciously influencing consumers’ perceptions through audio triggers such as sonic logos, brands can build stronger relationships with customers, ultimately leading to enhanced brand recognition and increased brand equity.

“That’s why more brands in 2022 will emulate Just Eat, Intel and Moonpig. They will get more strategic about how they use their sonic assets, leading to a growing value divide between brands that have a sonic strategy and those that do not.”  

With 12 new entrants hitting the top 72, including Coca Cola and Apple Mac, SoundOut is confident that a greater recognition for the importance of sonic branding is soon to follow, dubbing 2022 as the year of the “Sonic Boom”.
