European Wayfinding Awards winners revealed
Transform is proud to unveil the winners of its inaugural European Wayfinding Awards. The programme recognises outstanding work from agencies, studios and in-house teams that create intuitive, inclusive and inspiring navigation systems.
The May Fair Hotel in London played host to an enthralling night, where the winners of the very first European Wayfinding Awards were recognised for their contribution to the field of wayfinding.
Among a plethora of outstanding work, Everton FC with Endpoint and BDP Pattern took home the ‘Grand Prix’ trophy, the highest accolade to be won at the European Wayfinding Awards. Judges were full of praise for the “standout project”, which also scooped up a Gold in ‘Best Wayfinding for Sports, Entertainment, MICE and Temporary Event Venues’.
Another big winner on the night was Barnet Council and Related Argent with Portland Design Associates, which won two Golds, while Battersea Power Station and f.r.a. won a Gold and two Silvers.
Jack Cousins, editor of Transform magazine, says, “Tonight was an exciting celebration of how important wayfinding and navigational design have become across Europe. In recent years I have seen fantastic wayfinding projects entered into the Transform Awards Europe, so I am delighted that there is now an awards programme completely dedicated to this crucial area of design.
“It was therefore unsurprising that there was no shortage of excellent projects shortlisted for our inaugural edition. From residential and healthcare to transport and workplaces, the breadth of projects entered demonstrated just how far-reaching the discipline has become.”
