Tangent designs new range of sustainable Eden Mill gins

Eden Mill Tangent Golden Lore Gin

Glasgow-based design studio, Tangent, worked with Scottish brewery and distillery, Eden Mill, to launch a new range of gins spanning two ranges- heritage and premium- both focused on sustainability and storytelling.

The new gin range introduces a new chapter – a greener business model – including the construction of their carbon neutral distillery in St Andrews. The new site at Eden Campus will be the first distillery and visitor centre purpose-built to be climate positive and sustainable.

The new glass bottle, designed with eco-consciousness in mind, is made in the UK with a low carbon footprint, with 18% less glass than the industry-standard gin bottle, making them lightweight and easy to recycle.

Each liquid in the range is distinct, taking inspiration from all over the world, from the untold history of St Andrews, to Scotland’s influence across the globe, to myths and legends. The illustrations on the bottle, by illustrator Ella Ginn, aim to capture the feeling of each of the narratives associated with the gins. On both ranges the brand name is from and centre, in a bold statement of pride. The outer ‘shield’ from the stoneware bottles was retained simplifying its appearance and creating space to add key botanicals and a short product introduction.

While the composition is consistent and unmistakably Eden Mill, each product has an ownable colour, applied to the front label.
