The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort, which features 200 guestrooms and 36 suites, opened in April 2025 in the Dominican resort town of Punta Cana. With nine dining and bar concepts, the luxury property tasked Crown Creative with creating a cohesive and contemporary guest journey.

The global design agency found inspiration in the island’s landscape, materials and local context by working alongside the St. Regis team, leading to the ‘Rooted in Nature’ strategic idea. This helped forge a consistent theme throughout the project and allowed the collection of brands to breathe on their own while still feeling a part of the resort.

André Gomes, director of food and beverage at St. Regis Cap Cana, explains, “As St. Regis’ first address in the Dominican Republic, our ambition was to create something that felt like a true marker for the island, a resort where every detail is crafted, not assumed.

“With nine food and beverage concepts, that meant building an ecosystem of experiences that are richly different in mood and offer, but connected by a consistent level of care, story and sense of place. That’s what contemporary luxury looks like: considered, immersive and seamless.”

This is evident in the design, with each outlet adopting its own identity – from symbols and graphic devices to colour palettes and typography. For instance, the Cap Cana Resort’s fire-led dining concept, Nina, utilises hand‑drawn charcoal illustrations, while the Marola Mediterranean Grill fuses wave‑inspired graphics into its design.

To enhance the guest experience, Crown Creative ensured a multitude of touchpoints were considered. As Matthew Butler, senior designer at Crown Creative, says, “Luxury in hospitality has to be experienced in the hand: it’s the weight of a menu, the grain of a paper stock, the emboss, the foil, the texture you feel before you’ve even taken a sip. Those tactile cues quietly tell you you’re somewhere considered.”
