Rather than highlighting the complexity, data and technical jargon of its work, the new Iomart brand seeks to celebrate the company’s focus on making life straightforward and easier for its customers. In a category often dominated by stock imagery of connectivity and ‘corporate high-fives,’ Notepad used art direction centred around warm and friendly photography of the Iomart team and its customers.

“As an agency that rebrands a lot of tech companies, it was an absolute joy to work with a company as big and bold as Iomart to show the world how to cut through in complex industries,” says Naeem Alvi-Assinder, founder of Notepad.

The people-focused photography is complemented by a relatable tone of voice, big blocks of bright colour, and simple illustrative marks. Together, these elements aim to create a brand system that is easy to execute across all digital and physical touchpoints.

Throughout the new identity, Notepad focused on using clear-cut and down to earth language which seeks to champion Iomart’s focus on simplicity, while positioning the brand as a more approachable and collaborative alternative to its major competitors. To fully launch the new brand, Notepad reimagined Iomart’s physical brand experience at trade events and launched the creative elements across all digital platforms.

“It was really important to us to work with a partner who took the time to get to know our business and who could work as an extension of our marketing team. We wanted everyone to be involved in the brand building process- not just outsource it and be handed the finished article,” says Sharon Mars Leach, CMO at Iomart.
