Knockout designs bottle and packaging for special edition gin

Bombay Sapphire® Sunset KO

London-based design drinks specialists, Knockout, designed the bottle and packaging for Bombay Sapphire Sunset, a new special edition gin from Bombay Sapphire.

Building on the architecture of Bombay Sapphire’s design, the new expression uses vibrant colours to reflect these ingredients, aiming to evoke the mellowing mood of the drink occasion. The frame around the label features a pattern of cardamom seeds and mandarin slices in gold foil, which continues onto the body of the label in a tactile varnish and around the burnt amber cap in a tinted ink.

“Through colour and detail, the design weaves Bombay Sapphire Sunset’s enticing story of a refreshingly aromatic gin to enjoy as day becomes night,” says Dominic Burke, founder at Knockout.

The gradient of colours ascends from golden orange to twilight blue, with the aim of transporting consumers to the moment when the moment when the sun is about to set, Burke explains.

“Knockout has crafted a design that delivers standout that is simply mesmerising, artfully capturing the day-to-night occasion whilst cueing appetite appeal and inspiring cocktail inspiration,” says Adam Heims, global brand director of Bombay Sapphire at Bacardi.
