EUknow.it establishes dynamic brand identity
The Italian partnership project provides resources and updates for citizens, students and organisations to better understand the functions and structures of European Union programmes to aid in the development of projects. EUknow.it partnered with Cappelli Identity Design to create an accessible, generative visual identity.
The project, created on the back of a partnership between Fondazione CRT, ACRI (the Association of Foundations and Savings Banks), ASVAPP (the Association for the Development of Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies), Filiera Futura and nine Italian banking foundations, offers an evolution from the previous brand, Guida all’Europrogettazione (Guide to Europlanning). The new name, which combines ‘EU’ (Europe) and ‘know’ (knowledge and expertise), is pronounced ‘you know it.’
The logo, structured in three parts (EU, Know, .it), is generated by an algorithm to have fluid and variable shapes on the right, representing knowledge evolution. On the left, a stable circle symbolises the solid foundations on which collective progress is built.
The visual identity provides intuitive navigation with a chromatic structure based on three main areas of the platform: ‘Manual,’ ‘Programs’ and ‘Insights.’ The colours—bright orange, green and purple—are also functions that help the user recognise, orient and connect for a clear navigational experience.
Design elements like geometric overlays and vibrant contrasts create a rhythm through all digital and physical touchpoints, including the website, newsletter, social media and communication campaigns. The design combines clarity and openness for accessibility among a diverse range of audiences, from students to experts in European project management.
