WWF finds its voice with Ellie Goulding melody

WWF

When the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), iconic for its panda logo, realised it wasn’t taking advantage of sonic branding, it teamed up with global music and sound partner Massive Music and pop singer Ellie Goulding to implement a sonic logo that gives Mother Nature her voice back.

Ellie Goulding, renowned pop singer and WWF ambassador since 2022, is the new voice of the brand’s sonic logo. The melody, released on 15 March 2026 (Mother’s Day in the UK), takes the sounds of nature and represents a living ecosystem — interconnected, evolving and sustainable.

The three-second composition aims to represent real ecosystems that are under strain due to climate change and human activity through layered tracks recorded in nature and a primal cry by Goulding.

For the backing track, MassiveMusic recorded bioelectric signals of bamboo to create the foundation. Bamboo not only links to the WWF’s panda logo, but also symbolises resilience and the restoration of ecosystems. Recordings of wildlife, rumbles of the earth and human breath create a texturally rich soundscape, weaving humans and nature together instead of keeping them separate.

WWF redefines the ‘voice of Mother Nature’ with Goulding, herself a mother, representing both fragility and strength in her rallying call for humans to protect the planet. The sonic logo is designed to scale across campaigns, content and global markets while remaining recognisable.

“In the charity category where messages are often complex and urgent, a distinctive sonic identity helps create clarity and consistency,” says Kim Aspeling, lead voice specialist at MassiveMusic. “For WWF, the objective was to develop an audio asset that strengthens brand salience, broadens perception beyond species protection, and supports deeper engagement with the climate and nature crisis.”
