Begüm Tomruk

Begüm Tomruk is the industrial design director and creative director of the New York-born luxury audio brand Marantz, as well as other luxury brands within the audio group, including Bowers & Wilkins and Classé. In her current role, the Istanbul-born designer plays a pivotal role by leading industrial design and creative direction. She works closely with in-house design and brand teams to evolve core products and experiences, honoring each brand’s heritage through a holistic design approach — ensuring consistency from initial concept to final customer experience.

A graduate of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, Begüm brings a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by her work with renowned design studios and global companies such as GROHE, Beko, and Grundig. Her work has been recognized with numerous international design awards, including the iF DESIGN AWARD and the Red Dot Design Award. She currently serves as a juror for the iF Design Award 2025.

His obsession with meaning and clarity has taken him from graphic designer to verbal identity specialist. Building brands with language. Alexander Wodrich is managing director of why do birds, a Berlin-based agency for audio and motion branding. Their clients include companies from 17 countries such as Siemens, Hyundai, GORE-TEX, Ferrari and DHL. Having won the most prestigious creative awards, the agency belongs to the most renowned studios in Europe. Alexander regularly appears as a speaker at universities and congresses on the subject of brands, sound and motion. In his spare time, he is a passionate musician: He has played more than 100 concerts with his bands and recorded several records.
