Why brands should Never Sit Still
In a world dominated by screens, static brands are losing their voice. Mike Tosetto, director and founder of Never Sit Still, explores how motion branding brings strategy, design and animation together to create motion systems that move people. He explains how motion acts as a brand’s body language, communicating personality, building recognition and forging deeper human connections. By translating strategic ideas into motion, brands that move with purpose create differentiation, consistency and engagement across every platform. The message is simple yet powerful, motion brings emotion and the most successful brands are the ones that never sit still.

How a great partnership can drive brand literacy and performance
The 20-year relationship between NAB and Principals is one the deepest and longest-standing in Australia between a brand agency and client company. Underpinning that relationship is the ability of client and agency together to influence brand-centric culture and ways of working in a large and complex organisation.
The centrepiece of this effort is Brand EdEx – an ongoing program of work to build brand literacy inside NAB that was awarded Gold in the 2024 Transform ANZ Award for 'Best Internal Communications During a Brand Development Project'. Brand EdEx is a learning experience and best practice showcase that elevates the role of the NAB brand team in the business and creates connections between agency partners and client-side leaders.
In this interactive session, Hamish Cargill (Director, XXVI & Principal) from Principals will interview Susanna Hondrokostas (acting Head of Group Brand) from NAB and Simon Wright (Executive Creative Director & Principal) from Principals to share insights and tips around how to engage the business around brand, secrets of productive brand agency/client relationships and how to achieve the elusive balance of consistency, flexibility and freshness over decades of brand management excellence.

The data is in...So why is it still being ignored?
An abundance of data now provides a clear blueprint for building powerful brands: grow mental availability through differentiation, emotional priming, and consistent long-term execution. And yet, a walk through any category reveals a landscape of brands that do too few of these things. This session explores the critical gap between "data speak" and "data action," revealing how truly paying attention to the evidence doesn't lead to sterile marketing, but instead unlocks a powerful mandate for brands to be more creative, more distinctive, and ultimately, more effective.

How to make your sonic boom
What connects the Mac startup chime, AC/DC, and Darth Vader? Each shows how a single moment in audio can hardwire emotion and memory into culture. The founders of Smith & Western, Dan Higson and Nick West will break down how brands can use that same emotional influence to shape behaviour and build brand connections.
Through a series of real world case studies, they will demonstrate that modern sonic identities share the same sonic blueprint as the film scores and timeless tracks we love. Showing how they draw from the same emotional palette, capable of lifting the spirit, commanding attention, and even moving audiences to tears. That is the power of strategic sound in branding. When brands get the emotion right, people don’t just listen, they lean in and brand loyalty follows.
