Virtual branding


Sony’s virtual reality offering was always going to cause a stir, and its branding needed to match that expectation.

Creative agency, Territory, was tasked with the creation of a new logo for PlayStation VR Worlds, it combines the existing PlayStation wordmark with a dynamic circular design.

The logo, which can be animated, includes geometric and fluid forms, intended to reflect the brand’s promise of the endless possibilities available through its technology. The design concept, like the PlayStation product, also plays with the notion of inhabiting both the virtual and the real world.

VR Worlds will become available in October 2016 and will face stiff competition from its rivals, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
